Like many others, I was bitten by the bluegrass bug during the early 70s folk boom.
Just like Berend, I also attended that
show by "Country Gazette" in the Lantaren theatre in Rotterdam.
And Berend is right, Alan Munde, the banjo player, was very impressive ! Bands like Country Gazette and the Dillards put me on the trail leading to the sources of bluegrass music: Bill Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs, the Stanleys, etc. |

Today my taste in bluegrass music has become quite inclusive,
ranging from modern to more traditional styles.
I also enjoy Country music, Western and Gipsy swing, Rockabilly, etc. As a ten-year-old, I started on guitar, but I consider the banjo my favourite instrument. After many bands, including "Flexibility" and the "Friday Night Band", I now play mandolin for "EXCEPT-2", a band that is musically very versatile. |
